Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What kind of issues do you support?
I work with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, and burnout at work, as well as those exploring their identity, sexuality, or relationships. I also support people navigating polyamory, kink, and other non-traditional relationship dynamics. Sessions focus on understanding your experiences, building confidence, and developing coping strategies, all in a safe, non-judgemental space.
Who can benefit from counselling with you?
Anyone feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or uncertain in work, relationships, or personal identity. This includes:
People experiencing work-related stress or burnout
LGBTQIA+ clients exploring gender, sexuality, or identity
Clients in polyamorous, kink, or non-traditional relationships
Anyone seeking to increase confidence, self-worth, and personal insight
What can I expect in a session?
Sessions are a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings. We reflect on your experiences, discuss challenges, and identify ways to cope and build self-confidence. You can talk at your own pace, there’s no pressure to have all the answers or “fix” anything.
How long are sessions, and how often should I attend?
Sessions last 50 minutes. Many clients begin with weekly sessions, though we will always discuss and agree on a frequency that feels right for you. I offer weekly, fortnightly, or a rolling cycle of three weekly sessions followed by a one-week break. We'll talk through what suits you best when we meet.
Do I need to be “out” or open about my identity to attend?
No. You can come as you are. Counselling is a space to explore your identity at your own pace, whether you’re out to everyone, some people, or nobody.
Do you provide online counselling?
Yes, sessions are available online via Signal, making it easier to fit counselling into your schedule while maintaining privacy.
Is counselling confidential?
Absolutely. Everything shared in sessions is strictly confidential. There are some legal and ethical exceptions where I may be required to share information without your consent, including where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, and in specific legal circumstances relating to terrorism or money laundering. Where possible, I will always discuss this with you first.
I’m not sure if counselling is for me, what should I do?
It’s normal to feel uncertain. You might start with a single Get-to-Know-You session to see if it feels right. Many clients find that even short-term counselling can provide clarity, support, and relief.
How much does counselling cost?
Online sessions: £55 per session
In-person sessions: £65 per session
Concession rate: £35 per session (online or in-person), available for those experiencing financial hardship, including students, those on a low income, or anyone facing significant financial difficulty
Concession spaces are limited. Sessions are offered in blocks of up to 12, so that the service remains accessible to others who need it. If there is no waiting list at the end of your block, a further 12-session block may be offered.
Payment is by bank transfer in advance and must be received at least 72 hours before your appointment to confirm your booking.
How do I pay?
Payment is by bank transfer, due at least 72 hours before your session.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 72 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule without charge. Cancellations made within 72 hours will be charged the full session fee. This applies to both in-person and online sessions.
